We wanted to share our tips and advice for being renewal ready.
Your associations renewal campaign cannot be left up to chance and in-fact last year’s strategy may need further refinement.

With the current fast-paced world that we are all experiencing it is easy to forget that end of financial year is just around the corner. For many associations that also means it is time for renewal campaigns. Here are our top tips for your association to become renewal ready.

Review your Renewal Strategy.

We recently shared insights in a webinar on Rethinking your Renewal Strategy in a Changing Climate. This webinar provided tools on how to use your past performance, new strategies on price, value and communications to assist and improve your possible retention.

Invoicing and Billing.

iMIS makes this easy. However remember to review your pricing rules, billing cycle and run a few tests before you run bulk invoicing across your members. Use iQA to develop reports to help you validate that ALL members have been billed correctly for each combination of pricing rules.

Assess and Improve your Data Quality.

The success of any campaign is always underpinned by the quality of your data to ensure its effectiveness to reach the right person, with the right information. Use the time prior to sending any renewal communication to validate your members core data. At a minimum we recommend validating: membership categories, graduate or student upgrades, financial dates, emails that may have bounced and that you have mobile phone numbers you can use.

Road-test your Member Experience.

Before you issue your renewal communications, map and road-test your Member Experience. A few areas to road-test and experience are;

  • the member login and renewal without barriers
  • access to immediate email receipt
  • automation of personalised thank you
  • tone and language within the renewal communications
