Causeis welcomes the ASI 2018 Global Benchmark Report on Membership Performance. The survey was conducted in the latter part of 2017 and includes responses from 425 association and membership organisation executives — a 10% increase over the 2017 survey response rates.

Respondents were surveyed on five key areas: demographics, performance, technology, web/mobile and goals/challenges.

  1. Increasing member engagement
  2. Attracting new members
  3. Boosting member retention
  1. Inability to measure member engagement
  2. Poor and/or incomplete data
  3. Inadequate reporting tools

For the third year in a row the top challenge by respondents is the inability to measure member engagement and for the first time, the top goal is to increase member engagement.

Causeis has been providing strategic membership consulting to clients to achieve these goals. With expertise in understanding the membership lifecycle, retention and engagement strategies Causeis clients have been effectively measuring engagement and gaining performance improvement for some time.

We understand the need for associations to effectively measure engagement and how to translate the data into meaningful metrics for operational strategies. We have helped clients realise that members with specific engagement measures have higher retention and how to funnel other members into this engagement journey.

At a basic level, all associations should have easy access to metrics on member benefits and service utilisation across your website portal, CPD and events, support and advisory services, online services and communications. With iMIS20 you can track and measure engagement through the Engagement Scoring module or with your own tailored dashboard.

We encourage all associations to read the ASI 2018 Global Benchmark Report on Membership Performance. To access your copy please download via the following links;
